Principles learned from Rabin Redulla and Fernando Domagsang

Things I’ve had learned from business permit simulation.
The business permit simulation activity was fun. We had the opportunity to experience processing business permit papers as we are all expected to experience in our own business. I learned from that activity that going on a business is not easy, knowing we will be processing many papers, going to different offices and interacting government employees. It was fun then but will be draining in the actual world. I realized that actual processing of business papers will be time consuming also. I also learned that it is costly since there are expenses that we will be paying. I also learn that we need to be wise in deciding what business we would venture, would it be sole proprietorship or corporation since it would differ in tax payment.
Things I’ve had learned from Rabin Redulla and Ding Domagsang
Rabin Redulla
Pres. Rabin Redulla adds my appreciation on the first lesson I learned in the academy about the importance of proper perspective by showing us a picture. We saw the different perspective we had for that picture. We need to be driven by a proper perspective for us to be a successful person and businessman or woman.
He gave a clear differentiation of the world’s view and the gospel’s view of life. It shows how the world influences our view and curtails our dreams to live a good life. He talks about poverty and how to fight it. I love the quote he shared that goes this way “ to be born poor is not a sin but to die poor is our fault”. He also increases my feelings of gratitude to the founder, donors and staff of the academy who has given me guidance to fight poverty through business education.
I also learn from President Redulla the importance of a good business plan. He talks about his water refilling business and how he got an investor. I learn from him that it is indeed possible to start a good business without a capital.
I like his slide presentation showing successful latter day saints businessman and woman. That video manifests the words of President Brigham Young that we ought to be the richest people in the world. The gospel is our tool for success both in business and in life. I also learned how those successful men manage their time in balancing their business, church callings and their family.
Ding Domagsang
Brother Ding Domagsang strengthens my testimony that the Lord will surely fulfill His promises by sharing to us his life’s story. He taught me that the gospel is all he has that enable him to withstand all the trials he had gone through.
He quoted a powerful quotation “falling down doesn’t make you a failure but staying down does”. In life and in business, we sometimes fall, we cant expect one making perfect choices at all times but the decision and action to stay in that situation makes one a failure. I better understood that venturing on a business is a risk, it’s trial and error but what makes a businessperson successful is his ability to stand when business falls or in trouble.
He taught me what’s the most important business is—it is manning our family business. Family is fragile that should be manage properly and should be given the first priority.
He shared 20 great tips of life for us to be successful. In the end of the list is a quotation “you make a living of what you’ve got but you make a life with what you give”. I learn that the greatest profit I could get in whatever business I would venture is the profit of sharing the profit I will receive.
