AT GLANCE:
Start-up capital:
P500 for 12 pieces
Time to finish:
1 hour

MATERIALS NEEDED:
    Mixing bowl
    Measuring cups and spoons
    Wooden spoon
Muffin pans or small, shallow bowls
    2 cups cassava flour
    2 cups all purpose flour
4 tsp. lihia or lye water, P22.50 for 250grams. This is available in supermarkets.
    2 cups pandan juice
    8 tsp. butter
    2 cups brown sugar
    Freshly grated coconut as topping

[/align]
GETTING STARTED:
    1. Mix the butter and sugar.
    2. Sift the all-purpose flour and cassava flour.
    3. Combine this with mixed butter and sugar.
    4. Pour the pandan juice and lihia and mixed again until the texture is smooth
    5. Pour into a muffin pan or shallow bowls, making sure to leave space at the top.
    6. Steam fr 20 minutes.
    7. You may sell this with grated coconut on the side.

How much will I make:
Homemade kutsinta sells for P1.50 per piece, although you sell them in packs of 12 and charge an even P20 per pack. Kutsinta spoils easily, so make sure you only make what you can consume in a half day.

Tips:
Be careful about the amount of lihia you put in; studies have shown that too much of it can actually cause corrosive burns in one's esophagus and stomach.

Kutsinta is one of my favorite. Thank you for the recipe. I'll try that. Maybe I won't sell, I will just eat it. Kutsinta really tastes good. But I think it is also income generating. I'll try that too. Thank you once again for the recipe. Now, I can make my own kutsinta.

If you haven't checked out book trailers, or if you want to see some really cools ones I've found a few places that are really good. My favorite is on YouTube at www.youtube.com/booktrailers, but I also like the new ones on the BN.com site at www.bn.com and go to the BN Studio, and I love the Borders Media site too. VidLits are pretty cool www.vidlits.com. http://www.youtube.com/booktrailers
